Risk Assessment Manual Handling/Employee/DSE


Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 it is a legal requirement for organisations with 5 or more employees to have recorded risk assessments in place. Failure to provide these may lead to claims and leave you open to prosecution.

Risk assessments undertaken must be suitable and sufficient and be carried out by a competent person. This person should understand the associated hazards & risks, be familiar with the work, have the skills/knowledge to make recommendations and have received adequate training.

Our courses will enable candidates to understand the process of an ergonomic approach to assessing manual handling and display screen equipment. Candidates will learn an appreciation of the factors associated with discomfort, pain and other risks, anatomy and biomechanics to facilitate understanding the mechanics of musculoskeletal injury.

The courses will teach the legal implications of the Health & Safety at Work Act, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and Display Screen Regulations and factors affecting these.

All courses provide candidates with practical guidance and assessments undertaken will be specific to the organisations work.
